Physics Lab
This week our college prep physics students were exploring color theory by mixing colors of light and colors of pigment. First, students created swatches of the primary and secondary additive colors in Windows Paint. When they inverted these colors, students saw that each color switched to the color exactly opposite the original on the color wheel. Next, students experimented with matching colors of ink by mixing different amounts of the three subtractive primary colors, cyan, magenta, and yellow. As a result, each lab group was able to contrast the behavior of additive primary colors as compared to subtractive primary colors.
Earlier in the week, AP Physics students trained to become AP test graders. Students used a rubric they had created for an AP Physics problem to grade each other’s work. In the process, students were learning how the AP Exam will be graded, what the expectations will be for the work shown, and how to maximize their score on the exam.
