Newton’s Laws of Motion in 8th Grade
8th grade physical science students have been studying and observing Newton’s Laws of Motion in lab. First, students made parachutes with different designs and masses to test the second law that says Force = Mass X Acceleration. Then, students had balloon races to test the third law by measuring the distance traveled and the time to calculate the speed of their balloon rockets. Students had to explain in both of these mini- labs how the parachute and the balloon race demonstrated the laws of motion. Now that’s a cool way to learn about science!
